This burger builds on the classic cheeseburger by adding delicious peameal bacon and marbled cheddar cheese for extra mouth-watering flavor.

1 large Egg
1 clove Garlic, minced
3 tbsp Maple Syrup
1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
½ tsp (each) Salt and Pepper
¾ cup Shredded Marbled Cheddar Cheese
¼ cup Panko Breadcrumbs
1 lb Ground Beef
4 slices Peameal Bacon
4 leaves Lettuce
4 slices Tomato
4 slices Red Onion

Step 1 In a bowl, beat egg with garlic, half of the syrup, the mustard, salt and pepper. Stir in cheese and breadcrumbs. Mix in beef; shape into four ¾-inch (2 cm) thick patties.
Step 2 Place patties and peameal bacon on greased grill over medium heat; brush bacon with half of the remaining syrup. Close lid and grill, turning once, and brushing bacon with remaining syrup, until bacon is firm and cooked through, about 4 minutes total (remove bacon and keep warm), and until a digital thermometer inserted sideways into center of patties reads 160°F (71°C), about 15 minutes total.
Step 3 Split and toast buns on grill. Top with lettuce, patty, bacon, tomato and onion; top with bun lids.
